Many of our team members come from different backgrounds, but they all share a common trait: they take pride in their work and care about doing the job right. Ryan Brody is a great example of that mindset.

Ryan grew up in Hendersonville, Tennessee, after moving from Chicago at a young age. After high school, he attended Lambuth University and later the University of Memphis, where he played soccer. He spent a few years chasing the dream of playing professionally before deciding to shift his focus and build a long-term career.

“I tried to make a career out of soccer, but it just wasn’t in the cards,” Ryan said.

He found his path in the roofing industry in 2008. A family connection introduced him to the trade, and he started as a service helper. Over time, he worked his way up to service foreman and later worked as a field supervisor. Along the way, he gained hands-on experience and earned certifications like OSHA 30 and multiple lift safety credentials.

A Day in the Life of a Service Foreman

Ryan joined Maxwell Roofing in March 2025 and spent the past year as a service foreman. In this role, he handles leak calls and small projects while also acting as a direct point of contact for customers in the field.

“My job is to solve the customer’s problem and make sure they feel taken care of before I leave,” he said.

Each day brings something different. One call may involve tracking down a difficult leak, while another visit may focus on repairs or maintenance. Ryan enjoys the variety, but he also recognizes the challenge that comes with it.

“Every roof has different challenges, and each customer has different needs,” he said. “Making sure every customer feels happy when I leave is the biggest challenge.”

His focus on customer experience also reflects the way Maxwell approaches service work. It is not just about fixing a problem. It is about building trust and delivering a level of care that stands out.

Ryan has worked on a wide range of projects throughout his career, but a few stand out. Jobs at the airport rank among his favorites. “Any job at the airport is memorable. Getting to drive on the runways and tarmacs is pretty cool,” he said.

What Matters Most? The People.

What Ryan values most about Maxwell, though, is the people. “The people in the service department are what I enjoy most,” he said. “Everyone here cares about each other.”

That sense of support and teamwork has shaped his experience over the past year. When asked to describe Maxwell in one word, his answer was simple: “Caring.”

Outside of work, Ryan spends his time with his family. He enjoys traveling with his wife and kids and staying involved in their school sports and activities.

For Ryan, roofing is more than just a job. It is a career built on experience, relationships, and doing right by the customer every time.
