One of the greatest advantages of our industry is the way our team brings together people from many different backgrounds. Some grew up in construction, while others discovered the trade after serving in the military or working in other industries. What they share is a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality work.
Dillon Nab is a great example of an employee with those exact traits.
From the Marines to Commercial Roofing
Dillon grew up in Wyoming and later served in the United States Marine Corps. After leaving the military, he began working as a sheet metal technician and discovered the roofing industry. The work required problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability. Those skills felt familiar after his time in the military.
“The military prepared me for a constantly changing work environment,” Dillon says.
Today, Dillon works as a superintendent at Maxwell Roofing. His role focuses on preparing crews to work safely and efficiently each day. He helps plan projects, coordinate teams, and make sure the finished product meets Maxwell’s high standards.
“My job is to plan and prepare our crews for a safe and productive workday while making sure we deliver a quality product.”
A Culture That Feels Like Family
Dillon joined Maxwell at the end of 2025 and quickly found that the company’s culture stood out.
“What I like most about Maxwell is that the people are family-oriented. They don’t just say it. They show it.”
That support matters in an industry where schedules move quickly, and crews often work across multiple projects. Dillon regularly works with different teams and job sites, which requires flexibility and strong communication.
“Every crew operates a little differently. Learning how people respond to different leadership styles has been one of the most interesting parts of the job.”
So far, one project stands out as a favorite. Dillon enjoyed working on the Dickson County Courthouse, a job that required careful planning and attention to detail.
When asked to describe Maxwell in one word, Dillon chose “balanced.”
“They care about their employees and understand that everyone has a life outside of work.”
That mindset helps create a workplace where people can focus on doing their best work while also supporting their families and personal interests.
Life Beyond the Jobsite
Outside of work, Dillon enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. Much of that time happens outdoors.
“My family and I enjoy gardening and hobby farming. I also like hunting, fishing, and firearms training.”
For Dillon, the combination of hands-on work, strong teamwork, and a supportive company culture makes Maxwell a place where he can continue to grow in his career.
Like many people on the Maxwell team, his path to roofing may have started somewhere unexpected, but it led him to a role where his skills and experience make a real impact every day.
