Leaders in the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville founded Indian Lake Peninsula Church in 1969 in order to reach parishioners on the other side of Hendersonville. The church has grown over the years and includes two pastors, two full-time staff to run the office, six employees on the ministerial staff, and 15 employees running the Mother’s Day Out Program.
The church serves the community of Indian Lake Peninsula not only through Sunday services but also through midweek community gatherings on Wednesdays and other group events throughout the week. Beyond church activities, Indian Lake Peninsula Church also serves as a space for civic groups and sports leagues in the community.
The Opportunity
In 2018 and 2019, Indian Lake Peninsula Church underwent a major remodel to upgrade its building. The church’s general contractor, Hardaway Construction, connected the church with Maxwell Roofing & Sheet Metal. The church needed significant roofing work done and needed a roofer that could coordinate closely with their HVAC company.
The Solution
After contracting Maxwell for construction on the main church building, the church’s leadership asked them to bid again on a re-roof for the office.
“Maxwell did a great job with our worship center roof, so when it came time to redo our office roof, we started with Maxwell. However, we wanted to do our due diligence and had a few other companies bid on the project,” said Drew Altom, the administrative pastor at the church. “One told us it would be months before they could even get materials, meanwhile Maxwell was ready to start to help us fix several leaks we had.”
Maxwell’s commitment to tracking roofing warranties is what sealed the deal for the church. Through Maxwell’s planned maintenance program, Indian Lake Peninsula Church can rest assured that the roof will be inspected and maintained regularly.
“The ultimate factor was the ability to have one company that we can call for all of our warranty work. One call does it all!” Drew explained.
